because i’ve been around people in the community who claim to have ASPD or BPD, but do not display actual symptoms of it. same with people who claim to be systems.

both my father and my partner are diagnosed with ASPD, and i am diagnosed with BPD, along with a few members of my family,

but alter switches in systems don’t happen daily or multiple times a day + your alters shouldn’t jjst.. change every other day.

some people are very obviously attention seeking, which is okay when it doenst come to self mis-diagnosing disorders and then setting a poor reputation for people with said disorders.

my initial post was not made out of malice, it was an observation

if you look at the distribution of people with purported DID in these online circles, versus actual DID patients in real life, you'll see that the statistics are really skewed. it's unrealistic that every third-fourth person you encounter online has such an illness.
