Honestly . yea theres probably some people who do fake disorders..... the reason why i dont assume anything though is because its not my place to just assume, ive quite literally been accused outside of the rentry community for faking stuff before, just because i said i was autistic w/ adhd and amnesia (which is stupid, autism and adhd are commonly found in each other, and amnesia isnt the rarest thing in the world, its possible to have all three of these at once, especially considering what i got amnesia from in the first place, i wont share that part though)
my point is that fingers shouldnt be pointed at random people, they could just as easily have it, even if they didnt, theres usually a deeper reason as to why they claim to have this stuff, and its certainly not something people should just pelt rocks at them for and laugh at
i think it's less people faking intentionally and more seeing themselves in symptoms and jumping to labeling things that might not actually be clinically significant. esp with young teens claiming PDs i'm like. that could just be Being A Teen yknow?
I can't say everyone is faking as a system (because well, we don't know them and they are not obligated to give us their medical records or something), but the rentry community has issues in general honestly.
While 'faking' personality disorders could be one, they seem to have a "holier-than-thou" / superiority complex. Neospring shows this really well...
i agree ! however i don't think everyone is faking it , i feel like the rentry community is a place for mentally ill people . h8 all the people who do fake disorders which have impacted my life in a horrible way though
nah i definitely agree. there's a great amount of attention seekers who trivialize mental illness and draw away a lot of seriousness from the issues at hand by play-pretending to be a quirky little system
