Cherokee art is most commonly known for hand weaved and painted baskets, as well as pottery. Pottery is most often created by men within the tribe. Men also often hunt while women gather and cook. Both participate in the arts, and those of two spirited origin can play the role of either sex in traditional ceremonies.
