i do not think you completely understand DID much, which i do not mean in a rude way

but you can’t just switch on demand. that’s not how it works, and from what i’ve heard from the two people i’ve been friends with who were medically diagnosed with DID after years; switching isn’t a common thing that happens daily, and sometimes doesn’t even happen weekly.

so it can be a dead giveaway if someone decides to switch who’s fronting every other hour; or if they frequently have new alters developing 👍

but again, this is not out of malice, and i do not think it is in anyway okay to ambush anyone who misdiagnoses themselves with disorders or people who fake them, despite it being harmful at times

i don't... understand..? there are actual studies that have patients diagnosed with DID voluntarily switching and that it can be detected on brain scans. it doesn't happen to everyone, but it does happen.

these are the studies, if you're interested that is

if i am wrong or that these papers are wrong, please explain it to me. saying "that's not how it works" doesn't help much... just to clarify, i'm not here for an argument nor am i doing this out of malice, i'm genuinely curious and want to see if i should reevaluate what i know.
