HONESTLY YES.. as an example, sebastian solace yumes are really strong, oomf got some weird anon hate for selfshipping with him because "hes married and taken" (they literally said it was ok to selfship with him, and to just keep it out of the pressure discord server, cant remember why exactly)

if its breaking the authors boundaries though, thats a different story, for example, ive recently been interested in a roblox game, and the creator specifically says "do not ship or selfship with characters who have canonical love interests", if you go against the creators wishes for literally no reason then thats just an ass move #tbh..
